The Havanese is known for being THE NATIONAL DOG OF CUBA. Once named the Havanese Silk Dog and the Spanish Silk Poodle. Both names due to their beautiful Silky Coat. The Havanese are well known for their funny, intelligent, energetic outgoing personality. Born clowns with Big Personalities these extroverts are exceptional companions. The breed has an estimated Life expectancy of 12 to 15 years. The breed is attributed for its ability to be great with young children and older people alike. Affectionate with family members the Havanese breed has a adaptable nature and possess remarkable social skills. Good with other dogs this non aggressive breed fits well in a blended dog family. They make an excellent watch dog.

These adorable puppies are Awesome obedience dogs with an Exceptional temperament. One of the most hypoallergenic dog breeds due to their very low shedding.
Known for their beautiful silky coats which maybe wavy or curly. Their beautiful silky hair can reach 6" to 8" if not groomed. Always displaying a Gorgeous plumed tail. Havanese have Cat like feet for superb agility and amazing balance. The gait of the Havanese it is almost spring like with a noticeable prancing walk movement.
The Havanese comes in a large variety of colors. You'll love the combinations of color and personality. The puppies' colors can change as they age. They have basically about 25 recognized colors and 8 recognized markings.
Available in Pure White, Creme, Black, Silver, Chocolate, and Parti Colored. Parti colored must be at least 50% White with patches of any other color. Abstract is when there are white markings present on the face, chest, and/or the paws of the dog.
The Havanese breed is well adored for its gorgeous coat and beautiful markings. It takes about 10 minutes to brush their hair out. Leaving their beautiful locks long or grooming it into a short cute cut is a personal preference. Wiping their eyes out daily prevents unnecessary tear staining.
Lifetime regular veterinarian well checkups and a good balanced diet with exercise are essential and prevent allergies, dental issues, and ear infections.
No dog is completely hypoallergenic, but the Havanese, with its very low shedding, is as near as it comes to having a hypoallergenic dog. They are known to be heat tolerant due to their soft dual coat, while they love to play in the cold and snow.
The sensitive, eager-to-please Havanese makes a great city dog. The Havanese are awesome obedience dogs. They have amazing agility and are easily trained. Socialization is important to this friendly breed.
The Havanese require a regular coat maintenance. Brushed out two times a week with a damp comb is optimal.
You're able to style the long silky hair in many styles. This Hypoallergenic dog's coat is even more adorable when dressed in little outfits and even more delightful when you put cute bows in their silky hair.
Grooming your Havanese means that you not only keep their beautiful coat clean and brushed, but that you clean their eyes, ears and brush their teeth every week to prevent dental carries or tooth loss. Trimming their nails can be done with either dog nail clippers or you can use a pet nail grinder.
You will need to determine your own personal wants with a Havanese Puppy. Would you require your puppy to have Breeding Rights? Would you want your puppy to be Show Quality Bloodlines? Would your necessity be for Pet/ Companion Registration Papers? The Industry Costs vary between $1800 and $6000. Breeders may charge more than $6000 with top breeding lines and Superior pedigrees.
